A contest for the duds!

I like to think it's two different birds. The darker egg with speckles is from my SLW for sure. The lighter one may not be. Just to further complicate it, the girls have some new food, so maybe her egg is just a different color now!

Of my five 33 week olds, three are still duds. When the second one (GLW) started laying a couple of weeks ago, she missed the nest box every day for the first week or so, but has been consistent the last 8-10 days. She was laying for a couple of days before I caught on to the coop floor eggs. She laid one without a shell, then last week (week 2 of laying), she missed a day then had an enormous double yolker the next day. She's had a much harder time of it than my Golden Comet, who has been super consistent in size, timing, and location since day one.

Yes Dela the Delaware is hatched last Feb 15 is officially no longer a dud. I caught her in the act, one week after the solstice. Now I've got 3 more girls to go!

And Harriet squatted for the first time today! She was hatched end of Feb/beginning of March. Fingers crossed!

Lulu hatched April 12th as of today is no longer a dud....my baby is a woman!
