I'd welcome your feedback on this- I had to build a new coop in a hurry to house hatched chicks and their mother. I set a target of zero cost as our original coop cost way too much- in the end it cost less than £3. Heres how;

Wire netting- already had
Wooden rails- from works skip
Hinges 20P each at a car boot sale- total £1.20
Wood preservative- already had
Staples £1.50 - car boot sale (with staple gun!!)
Plywood- packing cases from skip
Roofing material- broken gazebo due to go in dustbin
Screws- already had
Nails roemoved from planks in skip- then straightened

Its 8ft x 2.5 feet- the coop part is 3 ft x 2.5 ft. It took less than 6 hours to build and is fully waterproof.

The chicks love it and I am quite please with the way it looks (the wife is slightly less so!) I would welcome positive or negative comments!

Very nice!!! Clean, simple and efficient! (Like the color too;))

Wish I woulda build a starter/portable unit like that to hold my girls, until the big coop,run are finished.
