My husband completed the coop this spring after much research and elbow grease! It was all designed to make cleaning as easy as possible. The coop is 4'x8' plus the nest box area. The nest box panels are removable. The back is hinged to allow us to easily sweep out all the litter without any blockage. The roosts are on hinges on the one side so we raise them up when needed. He put in a window on the one side and a vent on each end on the top as well as under the eaves to reduce odor. Our 6 chickens love it! We're hoping they'll reward us with lots of eggs! Here are some pictures of the coop. We thought we'd share them so you can get ideas if you're building one. He also designed and built a 7&1/2' x 32' run. Pictures of that are forthcoming.
