Hello!!!!

I have two dogs and 4 chickens. All of them commingle in the backyard together. I just found out my dogs have a mild case of whip worm. They are being treated for it currently.

Can my chickens get whip worm?
How do I know?
Treatments?
Prevention in the future?
Can I eat the eggs?

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!

Hmm..I'm not sure. Try posting it in the emergencies and diseases section.

Using Google, I was unable to find any mention of whipworms and chickens. Whipworms seem to infest dogs and cats, while chickens have other problems. During the period of treatment of the dog, be sure to clean up any droppings as these are the primary mode of transmission and the eggs contained therein continue the cycle of life for the worms.
