a few questions - duck eggs in lockdown

It’s up to you. I know it’s a tough decision. I probably would try to help it
I decided to help it. It was either leave it and let it die or help it and try to give it a chance at life.. it is still alive but I can't see its beak anywhere, I think it's malpositioned though I saw no bruising. I don't think it'll make it and I'm a bit scared. I don't think I did the right thing.. I put it back in the incubator for now, I'll make sure to keep the membrane moist 20240601_162447.jpg 20240601_162452.jpg

I don't think the baby will make it. I can see it moving but hardly.. I don't know if me opening the egg would've made a difference because I'm pretty sure it's malpositioned, just don't know where the beak is to save it.

It does look possibly malpositioned. I don’t think you should feel bad because it seems like it it wasn’t going to survive if you didn’t do anything anyway.

You could cover the egg with a half hard boiled eggshell with a safety hole drilled in top. I’ve never done that but I’ve read that it helps the egg from drying out.
