a few questions - duck eggs in lockdown

It does look possibly malpositioned. I don’t think you should feel bad because it seems like it it wasn’t going to survive if you didn’t do anything anyway.

You could cover the egg with a half hard boiled eggshell with a safety hole drilled in top. I’ve never done that but I’ve read that it helps the egg from drying out.
Yeah, I don't think it'll make it :/

If I have time I'll try to do that. For now I'll just make sure the membrane doesn't dry out.
 
Egg 8 unfortunately also didn't make it. We think it has something to do with shipping because every shipped eggs we've ever bought, only one duckling hatches and the rest don't make it. I guess we just aren't lucky with shipped eggs :( The closest people who are selling call duck eggs are 3 hours away but hey at least we might have a better hatch rate!
