A fox is on the loose

You're going to want to put up some secure fencing. Fox are pretty crafty and can climb. I'd also suggest running a few strands of electric fencing around whatever fence you put up. Start about 4" off the ground, another strand 5-6" up from that, and at least one, maybe two more another 5-6" apart. As others have said, now that the fox has found you, it'll keep coming back until they are all gone, or inaccessible. Fox are pretty smart - they can be hard to catch in a live trap.

We have a fox problem. So far, she's eaten 6 and wounded one. We have set up a live trap, but I still feel like I'd like to do more. Anyone have any other ideas that have worked? We don't have a LGD, although I wish we did

Did the fox carry off its victims? I had an attack on one of my girls and I cant figure if I had a hawk or fox attack. I had feathers in quite a few places of the run and my girl had several larger puncture wounds on her back between her wings near her neck. I saw a fox outside the fence just standing there looking at my flock right before I found the injured bird. I am trying to figure out if I should put electric around the fence or to cut the run size down and cover it with netting.

Well, we actually saw the fox attacking. In fact, itbhad one in its mouth when we found her. She dropped the in in her mouth and the hen had several puncture wounds around her back and her leg was hurt or something and she could t stand or walk. I seperated her because the roosters kept trying to mate with her and she couldn't handle that.

I also treated her wounds with tea tree oil and witch hazel and she's almost completely recovered! As far as the ones the fox DID get before we interrupted her, they were gone totally with nary a feather left. She had gotten four.
