That is a REMARKABLE egg.

Sort of a light-olive speckle, I guess? I'm sure it's even more impressive in person rather than in a photo.

She's a fellow fantasy writer but likes to be realistic about certain details in worldbuilding.

To a person who knows nothing about chickens it seems reasonable that if there are blue eggs and green eggs there might also be yellow eggs. But she knows now that if there are yellow eggs it will be due to magic -- which may or may not be possible according to the rules of how magic works in her setting.
