A gift from the hens...

After working all summer here in the DFW area (a real scorcher) putting the coop and run together, we finally got 6 Red Star hens the day after Thanksgiving.
We were finally rewarded with our first egg on Christmas morning... The whole family was excited!

We are now getting 3 eggs daily (still a little small in size - but tasty none the less).

One of the girls noted that we have no rooster and recieved the first egg from a virgin hen on Christmas morning...
I said a little prayer before frying the little sucker...
