A good vacuum sealer?

What vacuum sealer do you guys use for your birds? I have a cheapo FoodSaver but i'm looking for a good one. Thanks for your input

We used to use vacuum bags in the past. Until we found and tried these babies http://www.cornerstone-farm.com/shrink-bag. We will never go back to vacuum bags.

Love the idea of shrink wrapped bags but cost prohibited right now. So, still looking for a good vacuum sealer. Thanks

The "Seal a Meal" type vacuum sealers are kind of like buying an ink jet printer verses getting a laser jet.

The bags are special and the cost per bag is high. The vacuum they pull is a whole lot less and the bags do not make a seal as tight or as reliably as the chamber vac sealers. This is only marginally better for long term food storage than zip locks or freezer wrap.

The longevity of the chamber sealers is a whole lot longer and the repair parts are a whole lot cheaper in the long run.

I just bought the Foodsaver 3800. It stands upright so it takes up less counter space. I haven't used it yet, but from the reviews, that looked like the best one for me.

Very nice. The bags are a little pricey though. But still better than the shrink ones. I don't need 1000 at a time.
