a hen attacks me all of a sudden

Your hen may be expressing anger, as you went to play with your friend for 2 weeks instead of playing with her. And now you have locked her up!
It is my understanding that a chicken can remember up to 100 faces (human and fowl) for up to 1 year after those faces are no longer there. So she should remember you. Good luck with her and be patient.

omg if that’s the reason, I should be with her even more than before!!! and be more patient of course. now i feel so bad.. ow!

Don't feel bad, she is just angry like a child would be. You sound like a great chicken mom, she will come around soon. You could try making up with small amounts of treats when you go out to play with her.

i guess that she needs more time to get used to the new environment and i sure need to go to coop more often!

Oh yes, the chickens use their sorceries to draw me to the coop all of the time. They never would believe that there is anything more important to do than spend time in the coop or supervising their free range recess time.

I have a hen that was very passive and didn't want to be near anyone, then realized the others got attn. She would then get angry and charge and peck I did all of the peck back and hold down it would get better then worse.. so one day I said that's it I'm done and I scooped her up firmly holding her while I cleaned the coop.. she struggled at first then calmed down and then started to droop. After she calmed I sat down with her away from everyone else and held her and she started to fall asleep. When another girl walked in she startled and tried to go for them I checked her. Well it has been a year since that behavior.. she still comes in and jumps and comes at me but now it's for attn. Except the past two weeks, she seemed like she was going to go broody but didn't yet acts that way in every situation puffing up and noises and is a bit more aggressive..she actually took some skin from me so now no one is allowed in the coop while I clean. But after it's attn for all..
