Guess I better look for another duck.![]()
I am going to wait until it is a little older to see if it is a drake. If it is a drake, I think I will give him back to the "rescue lady" (who goes to animal control and picks up ducks and roosters that they are going to euthanize, and then gives them to suckers - uh, I mean people - like me.) She said she'd take him back when he got older and could hang out with her older animals. I don't want to have the problem of the drake injuring the hens.
Of course, that will be hard to do, because I'm as bonded to that duck as it is to me.
If its a drake and I have to give him up, then I don't want to have already gotten a companion for him that ends up a singleton, so I'll wait a little bit.
I've read a lot of the sticky about "housing and runs" and it seems like it is almost all about ponds. Is there somewhere else I should look for specific housing information?
Hi sorry your not able to care for your Pekins any longer, they really don't need much to keep them happy, a safe pred proof house out of the weather and fresh food and water. but if you feel you can't keep them have you listed here? https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16182/animals-in-need-of-free-re-hominghello, so it looks like ur duck needs a friend!
