>~* A Howl At Midnight>~* A FORGOTTEN DOGS ROLEPLAY!

Raksha thought she was going to make it and be fully functional when she got camp.

Buuuuut then it started raining.
Freezing, winter rain.

She could hardly move. The cold was paralyzing her, hair by hair, muscle by muscle, soaking through her thin pelt in chills, racking her body with shivers. Squirrelflight shoved her along, and it was all she could do to keep her feet underneath her so she didn't drag her friend down. Her teeth clattered together, though she couldn't hear it over the growing storm.

Then, she was back in her nest, Squirrelflight kicking more moss and bedding over her. She knew she couldn't fall asleep, she couldn't. Not while she was this cold, at least. She had seen her old pup-friends die because they fell asleep when they were wet and chilled like this, and then she had sworn to herself that she wouldn't allow herself to suffer the same fate. She had always wondered how they could fall asleep when they were that cold! It was almost impossible!
"Ohhhh little did I know," she thought.
She laid her head down, and her eyes flickered shut. She only intended to close them for a moment, but she almost instantly fell asleep.

(DUN DUN DA DUN)
Squrrielflight paused her licking." Oh....oh no!" The she-yote frantically scrambled to her paws, skidding across the muddy clearing, almost slamming into the den. She flew into the den, shaking Raksha."No! No no! Raksha, Wake up!" Fear racked her pelt–She let Thunder die, she Wasnt going to let Raksha.

(Since when has it been winter?! XD)

Squrrielflight pushed more moss into the shedog's nest, laying down next,to her, pushing her pelt against the shedog's, trying to warm her up. But in reality, Squrrleflight wasn't much warmer eaither.

As the Shedog drifted into sleep, Squrrielflight uneasily padded out into the clearing. Thunder still crashed and rain was pouring from the sky. Squrrielflight felt sick s she sat down next to Thunder's unmoving body. She started to lick the blood off the shedog's pelt, choking back tears. Before long, she could hardly see what she was doing her eyes flooding with Tears.

~

Flame managed to pull the freezing, soaked Birch and herself into the Alpha's den. Birch was fading of again, The cold taking over her body. Flame nudged the Shedog into her nest, and started licking the shedog's pelt, trying to warm her.

~

Birch was freezing, her limps stiff and she was shaking uncontroibally." I....I-m G-glad y-your here, F-Flame." She rasped.

~

Flame curled up next to her half-sister."I'm glad to, Birch." She murmured.

(It was snowing when they crossed the river, in one of Saeah's posts. :p)

Raksha snored.

Raksha shivered in the most dramatic way possible, because I can't really make a super epic post out of one action.

(XD)
Squrrielflight growled, her limbs shaking, Out of fear or cold or both, She wondered. But that Didnt matter now. She had to wake the black Shedog up. "Come on, Raksha." She hissed, shaking the Shedog, and pushing her with her muzzle."Come on, Come on!" She stared at the roof of the den."Sirus, Whatever wrong's I have done you, I deeply am sorry...But please, don't let her die." Squrrielflight whispered, ever so softly.

(Ooohh... I have a plan now >=])

(Don't. You. Dare. You will shatter Squrrielflight's heart)

Squrrielflight paused, feeling a slight stir underneath her paws."Raksha!" She shook the Shedog harder, her eyes narrowed in determination."Praise Proycon!" She muttered.

Cheese Grits stood in the cold, cold rain, looking as miserable as a bulldog could, and they are pretty impressive at it. He shivered but couldn't gat warm. Redfeather stood regally as water dripped off his oily rough coat, but he was actually cold too.

Jade tried to find a hollow to hide from the awful rain in, but she couldn't and became terribly soaked.

The wind sliced through her fur as she galloped down the track. Her pelt gleamed and flashed in the distant winter sun, and her eyes shone like stars as she hounded her target. Her handler shouted encouragement to her from where she had left him and all the other dogs in her dust. She knew how fast she was. Her entire purpose in life was to catch that cursed little fake rabbit, and nothing thrilled her more than jockeying for the lead amongst a pack of experienced racers. These dogs were young though, none of them skilled enough to even shadow her as she flew away.
Then it was all over. The no-tail who had raised her from puphood caught her by the scruff before she could lead the others on a other grand chase and forced the muzzle back iver her snout. She had grown used to it now, it was part of life. This was the prime of her career.

But then came a totally different scene from her life as a racer.
Her pups.
They were all light-boned and narrow-faced, like her. Except for one. This one looked like her father.
She had a dark, deep brindle coat, lightly speckled with tan. Raksha remembered thinking that she was going to have Jaeger's looks, but praying she didn't have his temperament.
She felt at peace. Love welled from her heart and poured into her tail, which wagged furiously in adoration for the tiny bundles of joy that were her children.

Then a gloved paw of a no-tail reached in and snatched them all away, and she was alone again. More alone than she had ever felt before.

Then, she was bathed in moonlight surrounded by the stench of death.
It was the battle.
Great, now I'm gonna have nightmares about it, Her subconscious whispered.

All the other dogs were blurs. They had no pack scent, no easily distinguishable features for Raksha to recognize. She slowly wandered through the carnage, unnoticed by them all. Her sarcastic subconscious wondered if she could go back to River pack camp in her dream, so she walked to the entrance of Rip pack's camp. Outside, two more dogs were fighting. A massive black wolf-dog, whom Raksha remembered quite clearly, and a furious she-hound struggled with each other in the dust. She watched as the hound pinned the wolf-dog, holding her down by the throat, every muscle tensed but perfectly still.

It was her daughter.

"Shadow!" She barked, jolting awake. "She's alive!"

Squrrielflight's eye's shot open, Every hair on end."Raksha!" The orange she-yote howled."Your alive!"
(I did not plain that, I swear)
