Here is a post that assumes Shadow, Dot and Dusky weren't found right after the battle. @HeavensHens88 we might need some Dotpu perspective alright alright)

Shadow curled protectively around the two pups that she had appointed herself to protect. Her muzzle rested across, what was her name... Dotpup's back? Yes, it was Dotpup. Duskypup she kept close to her side, keeping her warm with her own body heat. She looked out of the small crag in this cliff she had found, moving only her eyes. She might have dozed of for an hour or so, but her frayed nerves and scattered mind wouldn't let her truly sleep. Her memory of last's nights events were sketchy... Had she really abandoned Reed? Was Mink dead?.... Had Reed actually killed her friend? She prayed that it had all just been a dream, but logic screamed at her that it hadn't been.

She sniffed the air. Why did it smell like Canyon pack?

Slowly, as she lay there looking out at the snow-dusted world, she began to remember.

And she began to cry.

Silent tears fell from her eyes. Her shoulders didn't shake, nor did her breathing hitch, she just cried.

She couldn't go back to Rip pack. To the coyote she had grown to love and to her daughter. To the dogs she had gone from hunting for to hunting with. And it hurt. It hurt so much.

Duskypup stirred in the crook of her belly, but she barely felt it. Her deep, soulful brown eyes were hazed with pain, reflecting her thoughts like mirrors. She didn't notice that Duskypup had stood up and was licking at her tears until Dotpup stirred beneath her head.
Abruptly, she lifted her head off the dozing pup. Duskypup stopped the gentle licking, and Shadow realized how comforting it had been.
A distant, single bark echoed down the canyon. No where near them, but there. Tangible. Not a dream.
Almost as if a switch had been flipped or a button pressed, Shadow was awake, suddenly aware that they were not safe.
Not
safe.

Beautiful as always
but they're already in canyon camp

but I don't know anymore.

Scar somehow read Jade's mind and proceeded to stare at her weirdly.

(Rip)
Scar watched Owl for a moment out of the corner of her eye, then returned her focus to the path in front of her as the she-yote slid out of sight. Something about Owl made her feel uneasy. That slippery coyote always seems like she's planning something. Scar involuntarily shivered, then let out a huff of annoyance at her show of weakness.

Redfeather sauntered away.

Redfeather continued to saunter away.

*sauntering intensifies*
Stripepup got up, trotting at Redfeather's heels. "Ya know, I think I'd be good at spying. I blend into the undergrowth. See, I'll show you!" He yipped, his voice so quick it was barely discernible. He promptly jumped into a bush. A muffled bark could be heard from inside the bush. "See?! I'm invisible!"

"Yeah, sure, you're very good," said Redfeather, studying an unattractive brown leaf on the ground. "See this leaf? Such a good distraction."
