(Sorry!!)~Midnight suddenly became coolly solemn. "I'd love to hear any wisdom you can give me on the subject," she woofed slowly, her amber eyes sparking with a need for knowledge. "Birch, Leopard, Ash..... I know it's ultimately decided by who wins the fight, but what can you tell me?"~

~Jasper stared at her, abhorred. "He did what?!?!" His yellow eyes flamed with disbelieving rage. "FLARE INJURED YOU JUST BECAUSE HE'S PICKED ANOTHER MATE?!?!" Jasper scored a claw into the dirt and ripped apart the grass into shreds. He inhaled a calm breath and held Opal's eyes, eerily cool and collected. But his heart pulsed with vengeance he now sought on Flare. "Tell me what to do. I'm assuming you want me to tell Alpha, right?"~

Opal trembled at his rage, but inwardly appreciated he cared. Opal shook her head nervously, saying, with an occasional stutter due to sobbing "Flare is very powerful. Alpha thinks he's the best hunter. It won't do anything, and if he gets vanished, he'll just try to kill me." Her desperate situation was becoming more clear for her, while she held back tears: she didn't know if it would annoy Jasper.

~Jasper gave a placating whine, attempting to soothe her. "That's very true," he mumbled thoughtfully, feeling utterly helpless to help poor Opal. "And Alpha doesn't involve herself in relationship strife either..." He trailed off, his muzzle twitching into a helpless grimace. "I'll make sure that you return to camp and aren't chased out," he decided with abrupt resolve, standing defiantly foursquare. "Flare can't do anything against me in front of the whole pack."~

Opal nodded, asking nervously "You would do that?" She got up slowly, clearly showing weakness after Flare injured her. She looked at him, realizing for the first time how well built and strong he was, probably even more so than Flare.
