Most likely they will meet their end in a stew pot, but you shouldn't feel bad about that. Feel good that the chicken you are eating had a chance to see the sun, have grass between its toes, eat bugs, and get lucky with the ladies
Those fake factory chickens in the grocery store are the ones that really have it rough. They don't get any of that. You are making the best out of the situation.
Does because somebody else kills your food doesn't mean that you weren't responsible for its death. We all gotta eat, at least youe chicken was treated well before it was time to butcher.
I think thats one of the bes things about raising poultry. You get so close to your food that you feel guilty not eating the leftovers. You respect life more because you are closer to death.
