Oh let me tell ya....it was a sight to see!!!

The best part was getting picked up and presented with dinner already made for me....a cold cocktail to keep me focused and lots of praise. No housework for 21 days!!!

I would think it would have more to do with the liner being grass green in color. Hatcheries suggest using the grow-gel on their feed the first time you put feed in front of them so they are attracted to it. I don't use that; however, it seems as if your chick was confused thinking the liner was grass and didn't know to look for the feed. Just a thought.

Forgot to mention the grow gel is very green in color.

Good to know. We always use paper towels, changed several times daily, for the first few days so we haven't had this problem but it is good to know.
