I do need to work on the "Communication between others without raising your voice" I forget the without raising my voice part. I do agree that spelling is important, and reading, if you cannot read you are sunk, if you can read and comprehend, you can learn ANYTHING!!!

My parents taught me to not take things at face value(did I tell you how much I love my Mom and Dad?) and how to look things up and figure out things and what is the worst possible thing that could happen if you try something (you might fail) or ask something(you might be told NO), big deal, that which does not kill us makes us stronger!

Wow, I just realized how lucky I am! Thanks guys, I needed this post!

AND hennysmom, I so agree with you!! make mistakes and learn from them!!!!

Drive in the snow.

Even if you live somewhere snow-less there may come a time when you have to drive in the white stuff. Ask any Atlanta resident.

When I lived in Virginia Beach a few years ago, I awoke one morning to the radio announcer doom-and-glooming. Sooo much snow that the schools were closed and traffic was tied up in a million accidents. Apolcalypse! Disaster! I looked outside my bedroom window...you could STILL see grass with a little white! I was like - where's all the snow? And people there could not drive...because they don't have snowplows and salt spreaders in the municipal budget and dang if it didn't snow anyway.

I never iron anymore...that stuff is awesome!!!!

I think it's more of the idea of wanting your clothes not to look like they have been balled up in a basket all week. I use that spray right out of the dryer on things that need iron...well most things, hang them up and get on BYC.

Here are my suggestions for things people should know how to do:

- How to answer the phone politely...

This is a big deal with me. I think phone manners are important.
- How to set a table (and how to eat at a table with more than one fork!)
- How to write a thank-you note
- How to build a fire
- How to sew a button onto something
- How to wrap a gift
