I put my chicks in the coop today, and I'm SUPER nervous. I mixed the chick food and the poultry feed, and they have plenty of water. The other girls are being nice, they have a special box they like to sleep in, but still chirp like they are hurt. What happened? Will they be fine? I need help working through the first night. Thanks.

One problem is that they might be cold if they're in there without a heat lamp? Could also be that they're just not used to a bigger home without light on them 24/7. They just might need some time getting used to their new home, Probably nothing to worry about :)
They won't be cold if I sweat when I go out for longer than 10 minutes. It's summer, and I live in georgia

if the chicks are not fully feathered they shouldnt be outside untill they do. unless mommie chicken is there sitting on them they wont like it and need to have atleast 90 degree temps till older. thats why mommy sits on them at night. if there is no mommie you should keep them under a heat lamp or use a low temp heatrock. or some way to keep them warm. and the others are right the peep and peep alot. my chickens didnt stop till about 6 weeks old. then they just just started fighting each other lol

Aww. Just getting used to their new home and being there overnight.
When put mine out they were calling for a little rain. But storm of storms hit in middle of the night. I couldn’t even see to go out there for over an hour. poor things
I think everyone feels at least a little nervous when the little one go out on their own
They grow up so fast:hit
