Hi All - my husband (city mouse) and I (country mouse) have been browsing the site for a couple of months now, gleaning all the important information! We're getting ready for our first small flock, after a roving rooster showed up in the yard last year and our two horses "adopted" him. The little fellow has since moved himself in with our neighbor's flock, and we kind of missed having something scratching around the farm.
We're in the Hudson Valley, and are interested in heritage breeds - the current candidates are Dominiques and/or Andalusians. We're building a coop and a run, and are intending to free-range. Wish us luck!
