Mockingbirds all have pretty much the same personality, but they all have their own vocabulary. As others have noted they are great mimics and will recreate many of the sounds that they are exposed to. Their most common language is that of the indigenous birds in their home area. Since the Cooper's hawk population has exploded around here, mockingbirds have become far less flamboyant. They maintain a lower profile than several years ago. I have also noticed that they are not as vocal on full moon nights. Anyone think GHO are causing this change?
Moms local mocking birds do the cockatiel noise, the cockatiel does the mocking birds noise...... (and after they imitate each other that many times....it is noise)

We used to have one that would chase the cat making the sound of my then 2-year old squealing in delight.
The cat hated that sound, since it was usually followed by a big sticky hug.
