This is interesting! It's like a weaker version of what was going on in the movie, Avatar.

I know it's a sci fi, but it was very cool! Pretty much all the roots of all the trees on Pandora (the planet) were actually producing, sending, and receiving electric waves from each other so that it had more connections than the human brain and made a like sentient network! Very cool.

I didn't know about the nutrient sharing but I did know that trees call out to each other when they are cut down. That whole thing about trees making a noise when they fall if nobody is there to hear em? Forget it, trees call out whether you're there or not, it's just that we can't hear em.
Although I always wondered what they were callin:
