A neat way to use free pallets and spools

My BIL sent me this pic of how he houses his mushing dogs in Alaska. I love the idea of using free pallets and spools. Any ideas as to how this idea can be converted to use for chickens?

That is awesome! Though, I would think you'd spend a fortune on hardware cloth. Around here the weasels would easily slip through those to nosh on some chickens.

Awesome! We were going to build my new coop out of pallets but my parents just remodeled and have a huge pile of lumber for me to use instead. I may consider this for the run though, I love the link from ChickensAreSweet with the wire "windows"! I'm definitely going to think about this for my run as there is a dairy in the valley nearby that has a HUGE pile of pallets they want to get rid of. Too bad they aren't strong enough for horses, I've got a whole new paddock and pasture I want to fence for them!
