My husband and I purchased 25 chicks a couple weeks ago. They are White Leg Horns.
I managed to get attached to one chick whom I call Ethel. Friends are saying she is a he and to change his name to Elliott (based on the comb). At this stage of the raising, I am not too worried about gender and just want to enjoying watching them grow and them give some away.
We do plan to keep some layers for ourselves and I hope to 'gather' some much needed advice and help from all you folks.
