i hang one in my run. its easy free food and they love it when the bugs have been BBQ. i got mine at a thrift store for around 5 dollars

OK zapper up and ready to go tonight.... Girls are gonna love me for this as during the day here when it is 100+ (today 111) the bugs are hiding while the girls out and about then come out while the chickens are sleeping and the air is cooler.

Well used the zapper last night and this morning there was as expected a nice pile of dead and stunned moths and various other bugs waiting for the girls. The fastest got the best and the others soon realized there was a new food source in the yard. It was a hoot watching them chase the stunned ones around the yard. Indeed this will be a good thing protein wise....

We put a bug zapper in our run, too. We did it to cut down on the flies, which worked. We don't even turn it on very often now. I didn't think about using it to attract bugs at night. Might give it a try.

I'm going to have to look for a cheap one of these! Though, my girls have gotten very good at catching the moths that "roost" too low during the day, lol.

Can't wait to try it for the girls and boy. I am sure they will love having a bbq too.
