i was raised around my grandparents GOS pigs, they had a "breeding" trio and they they spent the winter spring and summer in movable pens fetrilizing and lightly tilling the existing beds, they never rooted deeply and were fairly light footed and did a good job od shallow tilling the veggie beds without turning them into mud pits. then in the fall they moved the pigs to thier small orchard where they got to eat all the windfall fruit they wanted, they would root a little and kept the grass in the orchard gone (my grandfather didnt want to have to mow the orchard) fertilized the orchard but NEVER bothered the trees. the boar was a little hard on fences though, not because hed challenge them but becaus ehe was a big boy and loved to rub on the fence posts (no electric fencing in the uk when i was growing up lol)
even as a breeding trio all three were amazingly sweet pigs, they loved attention but wenrt pushy about it, if you called them theyd come over for ear scritches but otherwise they were like respectfull dogs
like all pigs, very inteligent, they picked up all kinds of tricks.
there known as "orchard pigs" in the uk
not to mention, they are dang cute!
when i get my own place id LOVE a GOS as a pet if i have the space.
