I heard this tax raise on ciggs is going to childern with medical problems that cannot afford their hospital costs.

Yes it is going for CHIPS. Childrens Health Insurance blah blah???
It is for peoples kids that are over qualifyed for Medicaid,but has no insurance. This program basically catches all the kids in the loop hole.
My kids were on CHIPS for awhile, we have our own insurance now, but it is a good program.

the tax is stupid. Any way they can get a dollar... maybe if the country is hurting so bad for money... our leaders should take a pay cut... instead of taxing us to death!!! I hate how 1/4 of my wage goes to someone who make 100 times as much as I do in a year.

I quit in November TG.... I am enjoying the extra $5 a day I get to spend on chickens..... but I was wondering... since cigs. went up a dollar... does that mean I can spend $6 a day on chickens.....????

I have quit so many times. The last time I did the chantix, it was great.
Then my husband got laid off for a while, now I am losing my job.
I started again....I truly regret it.
I have to bear down and just QUIT!
I feel so much better when I don't smoke. But still enjoy it.
Can't justify paying $7.50 a pack here.
