Exactly!!!!!!! I think a lot of this money the government spends on stuff mostly goes for pretty buildings, landscaping and into the the executives pockets. Not actually to improve education or healthcare etc.

Ditto. I dont think its right to tax alcohol, and tobbaco at a higher rate than anything else, just because our law makers thinks its wrong. I dont drink or smoke so the taxes dont effect me, but just wait they will try to stop obbesity(sp) by taxing junk food, sweets and soft drinks, and etc... because the law makers say that its bad for us. It wont stop. But thats just my .2cents.

I understand what both of you are saying. The government has their nose in everything we do. We have no freedom to really choose for ourselves much anymore. I could go on for hours about what they tell us we HAVE to do, but I am just curious how many will put the cigarettes down or will they pay the big tax and keep smoking. I have many friends who are in the process of quitting, which I think is great. I haven't met nobody as of yet that says it doesn't matter to them and they will pay the high prices. Of course their is always the Indian reservation cigarettes. No Taxes there. I used to order mine from NY online. It was the cheap route.

Do you still have the link to the Reservation Cigarettes?

here in Ky they did up the tax on alcohol. it started the 1st. just like the cig tax, the thing is around here where I live they uped the cigs the 31st. a carton of the most generic that you can find was 25.99 plus tax which made them 27.69 a carton. yes I still smoke I quit for 9 days back in march but picked them back up. dh and I went and stocked up before the tax hit don't know what we will do now I guess we both will have to quit.
Oh and they said on the news that the money from the tax increase is suppose to go toward Obamah's health care bill he is trying to get passed.

There website had changed took me awhile,...www.c-i-g-a-r-e-t-t-e-s.com clink on the link OrderSmokesDirect.
I always bought the native brands (Skydancer,Seneca)because there are no additives in them, supposed to be 100% natural tobacco. It may be a hoot, but when I smoked them,I never coughed that much or had that tight feeling in my chest when I got up in the mornings.
BTW,..according to the site they have to pay the Federal tax too? Thats just crazy!

How much do you think the government / companies spend each year in health care costs associated with smokers and second hand smoke. Look it up - puts this measly tax in prespective.
