I would say Buff is is a hen also.I have a 2 month+ old.Her butt and head an everything looks just like mama. My 4 adult silkie roo's are Big Barking Crower's.On the other hand I have a Showgirl and though for months was hen but ... Roooo.he didnt get the Prominent comb for roo I guess due to being part NN.But Dusa(previously Medusa) is still awesome.Hope you got a pair though they are both pretty.

Yep your buff looks like a hen to me too

I had 4 silkie roos that started crowing around 4 months, when one started they all did! I wouldn't say their crow was any quieter than the pekin roos I used to have, all 4 were loud and crowed whenever they felt like it usually if something set them off such as a plane or motorbike, I don't think there is such as a thing as a quiet roo, well I've never owned one anyway!
