I guess I'm like those that say it depends on how sick he is. When he's really sick and just sleeps and eats it's fine. When he's home and feeling fine, it's great. He's fixin' to retire and I'm looking forward to it. It's when he's well enough to turn his recliner into deathbed central that drives me

Before he got septic from e.coli in 2007 and the doctors had to destroy his immune system to cure him, he hadn't missed a day of work in 25 years.

When my DH was working, he was one that rarely stayed home. When he did, it had to be pretty bad, flat on his back. Different today after being forced into retirement after 25 years of working at the same place. (so sad, so many were laid off) Nothing new for today, but any way, when he's sick now, I worry over him. He still likes to keep it to him self..I'm the one making a big deal over him being sick. We take turns taking care of each other now.

Oh this made me laugh!
My hubby doesn't get sick very offten but when he does its all I can do to keep him home. I actually like him home, he works so much I don't see a lot of him. In 2003 right after we got married, he fell 14 feet off a building he was working on. He hit the ladder which fell first under him kinda face first. He was in the emergency room when I got to him. Bunch of stiches in his lip and mouth he's got scars to this day. He had cat scans and a minor concussion. Anyhow I babied him big time! We watched movies at home and just had fun. But after a week he was begging the DRs to let him go back to work. The DR though he was crazy! He told us most people beg to have more accident leave. Anyhow he was back to work in like 1 week. I always try and make it fun when he's sick or off work.

It's OK gritty, I can believe you'd compare the two. Last time DH was home sick he spent much of his awake time asking me what I was doing and coming up with ingenious plans for how to make my life more efficient....

Then he got better but work would not let him back until the doctor cleared him!

He made my life more efficient. He reorganized the kitchen cabinets and the mud room.

Looked great!

Funny how it didn't work! Kids' lunch snacks are on the bottom shelf where kids can reach them for a reason! Canning supplies are on the top shelf for a reason. Yes, he organized ALL of my tupperware style containers and put ALL of the lids in one spot. On the top shelf of the mudroom.

he put all of my cooking utensils in one large container - in the mudroom. 20 feet from the kitchen where they are used.....

He tried.

But sometimes he's trying.........

ya honey!!

I'm kinda surprised. Gritsar's poll question is as loaded and directed as the political poll questions I get from the political parties, yet many people gave pretty honest answers. Some men are babies when sick, some are not, and with some it depends on how sick they are. Sounds a lot like women in my experience.

For those whose husbands (or wives, or sons, or daughters) are on deployment, thanks. I know the ones in uniform are not the only ones that serve our country.

So to be fair, Gritsar, I assume your next poll will be for men. If you are home sick would you rather be left alone or have a nagging wife around?

My husband has a pretty bad cold right now, and he still went to work (because he doesn't get paid--no sick time). I feel bad for him, but he does go downstairs to the man cave and isolate him from the rest of us. However, I am kicking him out of the bed tonight, because I am getting NO SLEEP WHATSOEVER!

He gurgles, coughs, snores, and sucks a cough drop all night, the whole rooms smells like vicks vapor rub and I can't stand it!!!!!

And if he won't go sleep on the couch, I'm going to!
