A Poll On Meat and Meatless Nights (Now with a bonus question)

#10.

We eat meat at almost every meal. I grow or we hunt 99.9% of our meat. I don't believe lean meat is healthier, but the meat we eat is lean, b/c I raise rabbit, chicken, quail, and hunt deer and turkey. All considered lean meats. the only meat I buy is pork (bacon), which I plan to raise myself soon too. Are you gonna post the article when you are done it?

8, but not every day (MOST days, though).

I'm currently reading "Real Food - What to Eat and Why" - it's an excellent read if you're interested in learning why some foods have gotten bad raps, and hearing how foods we've been trained to avoid can actually be very good for us.

Yes, I will. I have more research to do, but I wanted some personal opinions and insight included too.

To answer the 'Bonus question' teehee...I believe it doesn't matter. It is which ever you prefer. Natural fats are healthy fats, fat from cooked meats, bacon grease, home rendered lard etc. Processed fats are the bad guys vegetable oils and such anything in a plastic bottle basically. Olive oil is still better if it isn't overly processed. My theory is that the heavy processing is what makes oils and fats bad for you because they go too far in breaking things down in the product, and you wind up with something the human body couldn't possibly correctly process. My kids are intolerant to some of these things and it is in my study of what makes these products intolerable to my children that I have found the culprit, is the processing. I think it's the same for many other things in our convenience diets these days that are making folks, fat, diabetic, heart med dependent, just all together more sickly in general. Alien oil...just like mass produced alien eggs and alien chickens on the store shelves. I leave the alien food to the aliens

They are IMHO mutated foods and I try not to touch them. I'll take the natural fats anyday especially when wrapped up in a nice juicy Ribeye!! Yummm

There's also a thing called rabbit starvation. If you're in the wild, you need to eat more than just rabbit meat to survive, because you'll starve on such a lean meat.

Now, I'm not sure if that's saying JUST rabbit meat, or if they're saying rabbit as the only meat.

8- (but working toward 10)
I don't think most things are bad for you in moderation.
But determining what moderation is for each individual is the key.
