You could try your state’s thread and see if someone in your area may have something available. In my area, North Central Massachusetts, a laying pullet averages about $20 but like previously mentioned are not usually available until late summer. Chicks are really hard to find right now since the demand has skyrocketed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. I think networking with local chicken people or perhaps checking with your ASPCA might help. Hatcheries sell chickens that are close to laying but they’re like $50-100 each not including shipping.

Chicks are mostly all around $3-4 each and shipping depends on the hatchery but sometimes it’s around $20
