A Question About Ducks - Broodiness?

Oh! Ok well, I'm wondering if the eggs got handled too much. Is is smelling like the other ones that went bad?

I would like to have some hope for this last egg, I would like to say put it down and don't touch it for a day or so. But if it is rotten it may explode, which is really nasty if it happens. I have never delt with a rotten egg so I'm not sure how to advise you about how to be absolutely sure the smell is the kind to know the egg has gone bad. So you would want to watch it, but I think handeling the egg at this point is really bad for the duckling.

i would like 2 buy some ducklings but there's no1 around with ducks by me

Do you have enough space in your pen? Or can you add more space? From what I remember you are OK for three large adult ducks, but any more might create a problem, they might feel stressed and start fighting with the new ones. If you buy new ducklings at first you would have to keep them separate from the others for almost two months, which could be hard to do if you are having to divide up that small of a pen area. So I wonder if you have a way to add more room?

i'd make a new run for the ducklings when thay are old enuf 2 go out side but i cant get eny i'd love 2 get some ducklings

know if i make a incubator out of a cardboard box and put a tray at the bottom with water and wire on the bottom over the tray and have a 40 watt light bulb in there and put some holes in the sides of the box for oxygen and put glass over the top as a lid would that hatch duck eggs ?
what do u think is it worth a try ?

It's a very sensitive process to hatch out eggs.
I don't think a cardboard box would work because of the water and the humidity. People usually use styrofoam coolers because the water isn't a problem with them and the temperature remains more stable. You also need gage for the humidity and a thermometor. shal i put my drake back in with the girls ? done it now and i put that pool in with them thay love it !!!!

there was a young one in there but must have died days ago couse he was small
