Found this on FB.
Tried to dig for more info, didn't come up with much.
I see many problems with it....but am intrigued and would love to get my hands on one.

ETA: creator posted that it was not meant to be predator proof,
and bird can easily access feed and water thru holes in 'orb'.

LOL, a hamster ball for chickens! Clever idea, but I agree, obvious issues pop to mind immediately. Lots of predators could pick the whole thing up and run off, for example. But, it starts me thinking......

My son's GF was describing this to me. It sounded like a GREAT idea, with a very bad reality to me... or rather, maybe something I would use only when supervised (which would defeat it's purpose)... since I can see it snagging on something and giving the birds a heat stroke.

I love to see the creativity though! A chicken ball, instead of a hamster ball.

Ohhh... maybe add a shade cloth that's gyroscopic-ally stable and stays up top and a water dish on the inside that holds it place the same way. :p

Fun times! :pop

Maybe instead of a ball, it could be a cylinder, with half of it covered for shade, then the chicken could retreat to the covered end to get out of the sun. Still doesn't solve the water issue, though.
I agree, certainly not something to use unsupervised, but it occurred to me that might be a good way to make more flighty chickens easier to catch and return to the run. Then again, a flighty chicken might be more likely to try to escape and injure itself. Oh well.
