A Sad Day for Ducks

Hello Everyone,

Today we will be giving away our ducks. We currently have 2 older ducks both around 3-4 months old and 2 baby ducks 2 weeks old. Our landlord has been complaining about our ducks for a few days now, even though they were okay with it in the beginning and now we have to give away our ducks or risk being kicked out of our house. We will be giving them away to a wetland, hopefully they will continue to flourish but we will miss them very much. My two younger ducklings are not out of the brooder yet but eventually when they have their feathers, we will need to give them to the wetland park as well. I know the people there will take great care to integrate them and feed them but it is still very difficult to part with our pets after growing so attached to them. =( After this, we will probably take a very long haitus from this website since we will no longer be able to own any pets for a very longs time, until we get our own house that is, since moving is very unlikely.

Hopefully you can go and visit them at the wetland park it's great they will take them.

Sad day for sure— my heart goes out to you! I hope you'll still stick around though and share your knowledge. I'd hate to see you leave BYC (even for just a short while) for this.

Thanks everyone for the warm wishes and concern! I guess I can live vicariously through all of you by reading your stories and looking at duckling pics on here. That will at least satisfy me until I can have ducks again.
