a "seriously" "really" rant

I know someone who says "and that" at the end of every sentence, as though she's trying to imply she knows more about any given subject than she actually does.

Those little speech idiosyncracies can become very ingrained and VERY annoying after a while!

These are the words in my lifetime I had to hear, that comes and goes like fads...some of the words have made a comeback like "Groovy or Juicey".

"You know, blah, you know, blah, blah, blah" I would irrate the speaker "NO, I don't know!" Then they would stop using that word LOL!

"Whatever"

"Speak to the hand" or "Talk to the hand"

"You dig me?"

"Really!"

"OMG!" for every other word or sentence...it is not profanity or misused or used in a bad way..it is tiring to hear it when one says it often. It is worse when you say the d word with it.

The F word, every other word...reminds me of my uncle, uses that word to make himself look bigger or make the stories more interesting. He has been doing that for YEARS so no use in changing him but it gets OLD and loses the "fire" to emphasize the words. When folks use it, I would walk away and I don't need to hear it because I would use it when I get so mad, really angry. So if I don't hear it, I don't use it.

"YO man!" Can't you say Hello?!!!

"Whatsyap?" uh, the sky??

"Uh, uh" time for Judy Judy's thing....UH is not a word!

"So..."

"Like, blah, like, blah, blah, like, like " Like WHAT?!!!!

"Comprendre?" For those who do not know Spanish, this is America, speak English unless you are teaching biligual languages to your kids!

"Like what I said" hubby uses that a lot, NO, you DIDN't SAY that! He would use that for every end of the sentence.

I know there are more!

Seriously, I really am feeling diminished by all of this judgementalism.

It is what it is. Actions speak louder than words. Ahh, uhh, to dare to be PERFECT.

When I was a kid I used to say "Anyway" all the time I figure it was pretty annoying but not rude!

I am just tired of people being rude to one another because it is in style or cool. I'm not a prude either just want people to think about the words coming out of theirs mouths or typed. Uhg if I have to read it, hear it, or correct it one more time I thinks I'll scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dislike the use of the words "cavalry" and "calvary". One is mounted horsemen that fight and the other is hill where Christ was crucified........ BIG difference to me.
but hey...its whatever....

OMG...that kills me. My 3 year old picked that up from our 6yo neighbor. It's not "bad" language, but freaks me out. My 3 year old was "reading" his name today and said, "Look! It says, 'OMG Koen.'"

To some people dropping the F bomb is not a big deal nor are any other swear, curse, vulgar, (or whatever you want to call them) words.

To some people OMG, meaning Oh My God, is using God's name improperly. To them it is wrong. Just because you don't have a problem with use of a word doesn't mean everyone else shares your values.

To some people me spelling out God is improper, they would say to spell it G_d.
