A silly question about mule ducks

Okay awesome!! What do you plan on using them for? Just eggs? I have a few and have been tryna figure out what ima use em for
With that said, I do like to use duck eggs to bake with, so if Thomas is actually a girl Thomas (is there a female equivalent of the name?), then I will be delighted for eggs. I'm not a huge fan of duck meat, though that is likely just how it's been prepared in the past for me, and I'm willing to give it another shot. Especially since my husband has never had duck and would like to try it. But himself has had ostrich and other rather exotic meats compared to my American palate.

@Luv Ducks , can you help me out quick? Or @casportpony ?

The shell looks like it's becoming discolored, and spreading from the border of the air sac down towards the point end. Is this normal? Idk how well the coloration will show up in the photo, but I did the best I could to capture it.

And this is not shadow, it is the shell itself.
How long ago did it pip?

Do you keep the mules?
I kept my one female. She is bossy but the boys kept trying to mate my hens and were too hard on them. My female does not lay eggs but after peeling it out of the shell and saving it I named it Lucky and still love it. They are supposed to be excellent eating. I am not into that though.

My eggs all turned dark with the ducklings being dark in color. How is it doing and if it starts to breathe hard I would assist the hatch myself. Go slow with it and see how it goes. Mule ducks do not lay eggs but Hinnies can.
