almost had a huge whoopsie last night! it was about 70 degrees outside in the daytime when I got off work I open up all the windows inside the chicken coop/camper...and I unplug their heat lamp because they are all on the opposite end of the brooder. I ended up going in helping my father in law move his tractor and seeder to a new field, got distracted and ended up kind of forgetting about the chicks. when I went back up there I realized what I done it was down to 45 degrees! With all the windows open it was cold inside that old camper and all my chicks we're lucky enough to be alive and huddled together I quickly plugged in the heat lamp and shut all the windows and they seem to be fine this morning Thank God.
I think I'm going to invest in a simple timer for small appliances I see then all the time for Christmas lights since its getting into the seventies and eighties during the day and dropping down to Fortys night
I just thought I would share my story so nobody else repeats this error
