how long is a turkeys laying season? mine have been off and on for a while now, with a week or so of no eggs sometimes, i think its the awful heat here. i do have a hen that hasnt laid a single egg in a very long time tho. nothing but the weather has changed here. same feed, same pen. just hot hot hot. should i expect them to lay a little better once this heat breaks, or could they be finishing up for the season?

Mine are slowing in the heat but not much. I am averaging a little over 3 eggs a day now from the four so someone is starting to hold out on me. They were hitting 4 for 4 like a sewing machine for the two previous months. Its really time for them to slow. I have 72 BR eggs in the incubator and about 70 poults to feed right now. My toms are getting tired:D.

It can vary with the breed and your region. My Midget Whites start in March and are still laying at a somewhat reduced rate right now. I expect come September or thereabouts they'll pack it in for the year.
