So, early this morning, I put my loverly Polish birds outside in a dog kennel pen.
See, the other birds peck their heads bald, so they have to be keep seperate in a rabbit hutch.
So, it was a wonderful morning, and the sun was shining, and I felt that my babies should have a little frolicing time.

I put them out(with difficulty; my man-rooster polish has an ATTITUDE

) and they scratched around cheerfully in the dirt.
I felt that I had done them a huge favor, and walked away satisfied.

But wouldn't you know, the weather had other plans.
When it started to drizzle, I though little of it. I mean, it's just a little precipitation!
It rained for the rest of the day, ranging from a drizzle to a light rain.
When I came out to put the birds away, guess what I found?!?

Yep. Three very wet, very dejected Polishes.
Next time I'll set out an umbrella.

I have used a blow dryer on mine a couple times when it was getting colder - especially the girls with "big hair". The only one not scared of it is my Rooster Al who has been injured and handled so many times he doesn't mind.

We've had nothing BUT rain here for a week straight. Our little d'uccle roo looked like he'd shrunk even more the other day when he got drenched. But I'm sure polish chickens would look even more bedraggled...lol

I can't stand having hair in my eyes. Feathers in the eyes must be infuriating!
