AAAAAAAA >>>>MY DOG JUST GOT SPRAYED BY A SKUNK!!!!

I have three teenage daughters, and one of them is extra prissy and snotty. One night, we got out of the car and somebody said 'whats that!', we thought it was our dog or cat, we were all calling and looking around in the dark when we here "OH MY GOSH, I think it was a skunk! When the prissy snotty one bent over to look under the car it ran out and sprayed her right on her stomach.
I cannot tell you how hard we were laughing at that one.
If she werent the snotty one, it wouldn't have been quite so funny, but this was classic. It could have been in a sitcom.

Wait!!!! PRELL RINSE CLEAN SHAMPOO!!!! Its really cheap and works wonders!!!!!!! Trust me it will strip wax off of a floor! my sis is a hairdresser and she told me to use it when my dog got sprayed! it works wonderfully!!! i think i payed $2 for my bottle! it is green and can be found in any supermarket! do not waste your time on anything eltse

Oh man, I know how you feel -- having to deal with that while also getting the kids to bed on their first school night after vacation would be a MAJOR pain. Here's a hug of sympathy for ya...

Hang in there!

well she has had her bath and she no longer stinks but my house does...

we were smart enough to catch her as soon as she came into the house so it was not in the rug or anything..but it is the lingering odour..

as soon as she came into the house ans we realized it was her she went right into the crate and in the bathroom...off to Wal-mart DH went and got the stuff..

Thank goodness she is only a 15LB dog

Shoot the dog. just kidding. Our 2 dogs trapped a skunk in the backyard and got sprayed. At the time we had a doggie door and they came in to our walkout basement. We woke up thinking we had an electric fire or something. It took weeks to get the smell out of those dogs. Threw away the couch downstairs that they got on after they got sprayed. had that smell in my nose forever. I felt like shooting the dogs. My kids used to leave dogfood outside and it attracted the skunks. This forum gave me some good ideas on ways to trap them next year. Good luck getting rid of that smell.

We had a screen door that had come out of the frame in the corner. We didn't fix it because the cat would come in and out the flap.
Heard something eating the cat food- and the cat was in the living room. Yup, a skunk came in and was chowing down. Thankfully it didnt spray- we had all new furniture and carpeting.

Years ago I had a Samoyed get in a fight with a skunk. 'Snowman' took a point blank shot from the stinker. He was in sensory agony for several days. He wouldn't let me catch him to give him a good wash down. He'd just lay around moaning and crying till the smell finally died down on him. Have no clue why he wouldn't let me near him. He was always a very affectionate dog before and after the event.

Eh.. less work for me, but I sure did feel sorry for him.

I hate it just driving past one killed on the road, ssstttiiinnnnkkkkyyyy. I remember once my daughter who was 3 at the time said daddy look at the little ducky's, while moving towards them to give them a little petting. Whoa I never moved so fast, I scooped her up and whisked her back onto the porch still smiling ( close one ). It was a momma skunk with about 7 baby skunklets in tow. she is now 14 and hates it when I tell that story, hehehe.
