Abandoned babies on my step and I'm ignorant!

I am pretty sure that the Pyr rescue is east of Colorado Springs. I'm not sure of the exact town. Good luck with the new chickies. Sounds like you are doing great with them.

First off I want to say I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. I am am happy to hear your chicks are doing ok. I am sure they will keep you greatly amused and hopefully in about 5 months you will have some nice eggs to eat. Take care and keep us updated on the chicks ok.

Chickies are great this morning, I may have to change Goldies name though. The cat she has bonded with is Captain Jack,,, maybe Elizabeth? Of course she may be a he,, and grow up confused,,, maybe I should just go take a shower,,,
I want to thank everyone who has given me info and I'll try to do a posting in the main forum. I've received several sites of Pyrenees rescues and several aren't far from me. Close being within 350 miles!

I'm so sorry about your JoJo. It's never easy to lose a good friend.

Your babies are adorable! Have you figured out the other breeds, yet? The second one might be a Barred Rock, but the pics are small so I'm just taking a guess. Good luck and it sounds as if you're doing fine!!!

it's awesome you are considering adopting a rescue! yea you!
and how funny is it that the universe knew you'd be the right chicken mama to deliver those chicks to! (funny how these things work . . .)
i LOVE that your kitty has adopted the smallest chick. if you can, please get some photos of them together - it sounds beyond adorable.
take care and keep posting updates, i keep checking this strand!

I am so thankful you got those pics on at all! My son hasn't shown me how to do it yet. Turns out two of them have hairy legs though, the feathers come down the legs and out to the sides.

It looks like you're using the thumbnails, not the actual pictures. You should click on the text box next to "IMG code" OR click on the thumbnail, then right click on the large picture and select "copy". Don't right click on the thumbnail and select "copy", that will give you those small pictures.

For my chicks, if they're peeping and shivering, they're too cold. If they're avoiding the lamp they're too hot. I found a thermometer to be very unreliable. Pay attention to their behavior, not a temp.
