Well, it sounds like he's used to bein outside, so I really doubt that bugs him to much, unless he gets wet... Now he does need food and water, definately not lettuce though, that can mess up his digestive stuff, and trust me, that aint fun to deal with. Give him some hay or alfalfa, they need that, and if ya have any scratch, give that to him to. Another thing, takin him from outside where he's been forever and stickin him in the nice warm house aint a great idea, try a garage or barn where he's outta the wind but not in to warm a place, I keep all mine in a three sided barn, they do just fine, I usually have tarps up in winter so there aint drafts or nothin. Also, when ya mess with him, use heavy work gloves til ya know how he's gonna react, cuz he'll probly bite and boy I'll tell ya, they can take some nice-size hunks outta ya (I raise meaties, someone sold me a doe that had apparently been smacked around or somethin and when I reached in the box to take her out and put her in a cage she dang near took the tip of my finger off LOL, it took her several weeks to stop wimperin and freakin out when I got near the cage but she's finally startin to settle down now...) So anyway, if ya dont have a waterer, ya can give him a bowl, but he might very well spill it (I've had folks ask me that before.) When its cold out I give 'em hot (well, not quite hot, just mostly hot) water and that'll help it not freeze so quick, also warms up the rabbit a tiny bit. If ya have any apple, give him a tiny hunk of it, might help him not be so shy... You'll see! He'll try to knock down the door when he sees ya after a while, mine do LOL!
