But like the others have said, there is nothing you could have done and assisting sooner would have definitely not been good.

You can put some uncooked rice in a long sock and triple tie a knot in it then...warm it in the microwave for 30 seconds. To give him something to cuddle with.

Ok great. I have kept day old ducks no warmer then 85 and they thrived. Don't over heat him.
