Abandoned goslings

Hello, A quick note (I'm a weekend worker 12hr shifts, 0430 comes way too early.) We lost a gosling, it was number 4 that was brought in by one of my cats, live but probably had internal injuries. The original 3 seem well, they peep to each other and they hiss at me

I have been feeding them a small amount of non-medicated chicken crumbles twice daily, corn meal, fresh cut grass, and tonight I shredded a little kale. Brewers yeast has become a pain to find on a Saturday night here in Rolla, Missouri and they won't eat their peas! I have the bottom piece of one of my plastic flower containers ( a new one,) with a little water, that frequently needs changing, according to my husband, gosling babysitter while I'm at work. Pictures to follow after the weekend.

And I agree with your husband!!!! Goslings go through a lot of water in those waterers!

Haha, funny...they won´t eat their peas! Like children not eating their greens! If you can enough niacin into them by giving them grass, peas (tried cutting them up finely?) and another good one, Romaine lettuce, you may find they don´t need the Brewer´s Yeast. But it´s good to get anyway, when you´re able. Try the romaine lettuce.
There´s something about geese sitting in water that makes them poop!

Oh, clean water! Let´s go and poop in it!

Hello, What a day! These are the goslings, walking around, eating (finally found Brewers Yeast,) and making a big mess with the water. They love shredded kale and picked the grass clump clean. Our plan was to bring them out to the chicken tractor for a little fresh air and unlimited grazing. Grit's on board also. We have 3 pairs of Canada Geese that bring up their goslings from our big fresh water ponds to graze on the grass, I'm sure these little ones came from a family originally of 6, now down to one healthy gosling. When I brought out the larger gosling, he/she went nuts! I didn't know that they have little sharp nails on their feet, this guy was kicking my butt to get to the other geese, so I made an executive decision and let him go. Off he ran, ran! Joined right into a group of 5, about the same size.
The other 2 are smaller, so they went into the tractor, but they were beating themselves up trying to get out, so yes, these also found freedom to run back to their families. They actually joined back up to their original parents and the one left. I do have a concern for the littlest one who still hobbles a bit but I watch as Mom and Dad wait for him to catch up. What a difference in condition than when we found them. I'm glad to have had them during this recent cold snap, I don't think they would have faired well. Does replacing Niacin in their nutrition work this fast? Will they be able to keep up Niacin in the grass they eat?
Even so, I put out cracked corn and a bowl of corn meal mixed with Brewers Yeast. I also plan on buying a bunch of kale, to shred, and leave out, just in case, probably sprinkle Brewers Yeast on that too.
Thank you everyone for your input, I learned a lot and we may have even save a couple of them. Many goose prayers for these guys.

You did the right thing by them and you helped them through a rough spot. Sounds like it was a wonderful family reunion. We have seen waterfowl make complete recoveries in as little as 2 days it's amazing. Thanks so much for caring and letting us know how it ended. or rather new beginning for them.

How rewarding. Well done to you! Re. the niacin, I´d keep trying to get it into them, seeing as you found them already with a problem. What a wonderful story and experience.
