What is the size differance in the Browns, JUMBO BROWNS, A&M and The xld? I have some that just hatched of the A&M, Browns, and JUMBO browns. But I want big birds. How big are the xld

The only ones I've ever had are the jumbo coturnix, and my hens at roughly 10 weeks of age weigh 10.6 oz live weight. Hopefully others can give you other weights to compare.

The jumbo browns and the XLD-1 are the same thing, just a different name. The normal browns are around 6-8 ounces, or should be, the jumbos and A&M should be about a pound. I have not heard of anyone having birds that big, and all the A&M I have had have been about the size of the normal browns.

Oh, and hi Cindy!!

Jumbos - Should be 14oz.+ but lets call it 10+ oz

A&M - I'm going to say it depends on the line you got? I mean some people tell me theres are 6 oz. others tell me they have some at 15oz. mine are around 10 oz. but they'll be dinner soon anyways.

XLD, XLD1 are the same thing as jumbos

I sometimes catch myself calling my jumbo browns just simply "browns" and the smaller ones pharoahs...atleast that's how I separate the two in my ole brain.

I got rid of all my pharoahs though, so now it's the fatty jumbos I have (in browns)

That's the thing you'll learn with coturnix, even their colors people have soo many different names for it's insane. YOu really have to know your colors before you start buying them because before you know it you'll spend lots of money and get ALL the same colors.

I was lucky and learned from someone elses mistake not to do that and observe before you buy!

All my A & Ms are what i call "pharoah size" aka 6 0z.

I consider jumbo anything 10oz or more
