About ready to pull the trigger and buy a coop!

Well I went and did it.

Build it myself.

Sat down and figured material costs and include a half of a zillion trips to lumber yard and hardware store. Added in the moral issue of copying someones else design without their permission.

Have it built.

Last Saturday I called the Builder. Options, changes, additions and prices.

Today I left work early and drove out to meet the Builder in person.

I added a roof ridge vent for additional ventilation and fiberglass floor. Subtracted electrical, paint, chicken door and the run.

Subtract the 10% he's offering to the end of the year.

We came to an agreement and shook hands.

January "The" coop will be delivered!

The next question, should I have the chicks delivered in March or wait until after the Daughter's wedding in May?

Wait until May so you can do the run and add anything you would like to after the cool new coop is delivered. Then you can relax and enjoy the chickens and maybe more importantly the wedding. None of the chics will get upset....

Chicks will suck your time away like you wouldn't believe (I mean that in the best possible way). I would wait until after a wedding in the family so that you're not overwhelmed. You're in for an exciting spring!

I'll wait till May.

At least winter will be over and the ground will be unfrozen (better be!) so I can bury electric to "The" coop.
