I've had my hens for about a year now, and another six pullets coming up on laying age, so I feel like I should know this, but still...
It seems like quite often my girls sing the egg song just for the heck of it. Lots of times I'll hear them singing from locations OTHER than the coop/nest boxes and I'm just sure they've laid an egg in some "unapproved" spot, but when I go to check it out, I never find anything. Are they really good at hiding them, or do they sometimes just feel like cackling?
