Access to nesting boxes necessary through the day?

Seems like such a silly question but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. I'm getting ready to "graduate" my hens to a run this week and have been searching for some good options. I want something mobile, separate from the coop, but how do I provide access to their nesting boxes? Do they "hold" their eggs in until they have access, or is it "when they're ready they're ready" type of situation and they need access to the box NOW?

One option I was thinking of was just to put the coop in the run, but then how to move the run? Is it just to leave the coop as a "corner" and move the run around it?

One stipulation...I can't make any changes to the coop as is, it's the rental one.

Yes they need access to the nest boxes.

Some people have nest boxes within a movable run hanging on the wire/wood framing.
