Accidental chicken host

loss of feathers and funny looking skin. This was one of mine last winter. Not in a fight or hurt just hurt to look at. It can be anywhere on them in any amount so....

Nothing like that, no. It’s just on his neck and there’s bits of the feather stems (I don’t know the correct terminology) sticking out of his skin where they were clearly broken off. Thanks for the pics, that will help me to recognize molting when it does happen.
 
Is Larry molting?

Now my Show Stopper 10 way scratch is 16% protein -7% fat-5% fiber . It is a mid south feed by American Classic / J&J Bagging .
That and free ranging rooster should be fine. Larry will come to the show stopper grain real fast.
you get Larry some Ladies his attitude may change.
That would probably be just fine after he fully heals. I was offering the OP advice to get that cockerel back on his feet so to speak. That boy has suffered a pretty good beating.
He's also not molting. He has broken feather shafts in his neck undoubtedly as a result of the fight.
